First Dutch Service Design book is now available for download

A month ago we wrote about a great milestone: the first Dutch book on Service Design. We are still extremely proud that we got the chance to write this book for the Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs. A limited number of 300 copies was printed and we had to wait for the book to become available online. The good news is that the waiting is over. Today the Ministry released the PDF of the book and made it available for download! Lees verder

STBY presents at SDN conference 2009

Bas Raijmakers (STBY) and Andreas Sommerwerk (Deutsche Telekom AG) jointly presented a paper at the second international Service Design Network conference in Madeira on 26 October 2009. The title of the paper is “How sticky research drives service design”. It was also co-authored with Indri Tulusan of Spur, Julia Leihener, co-director with Andreas of the Creation Center in Berlin. Adopting rigor in Service Design research

Bas co-authored the paper “Thinking and Doing Ethnography in Service Design” with Fabian Segelström and Stefan Holmlid of Linköping University in Sweden for the IASDR 2009 conference in Seoul, 18-22 Oct. Our paper is presented in the session “Adopting rigor in Service Design Research” on Monday morning. The conference has a strong program with friends from TU Delft, Nokia Design and sedes research giving tutorials. Lees verder

Launch AMSI – Amsterdam Centre for Service Innovation

On 3 September an ambitious new centre for Service Innovation was launched in Amsterdam. The key focus of AMSI is education and research on management of service innovations. Various speakers during the launch event addressed the fact that eventhough services are nowadays key to our economy and society, a structured approach to research and education on service innovation is still falling far behind goods related studies and courses. Service Design appeal to HCI community
